Lang Associates Supports the Community

February 17, 2005

South Burlington, Vermont Lang Associates has a long, proud history of involvement in the local community. In January 2004 associates at Lang collaborated to donate a portion of each real estate commission to local charities: the Vermont Respite House, which is the first, and currently only, state licensed home for the terminally ill; the Franklin County Home Health Agency, a provider of high quality home health and hospice throughout the 15 cities and towns of Franklin County; and Project Independence, which provides daytime care for frail elders and respite and peace of mind for their families in Middlebury.

The charities chosen for 2005 are: Spectrum Youth and Family Services, which focuses on a mix of mental health and substance abuse services; the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, dedicated to providing food relief services to low-income individuals throughout Chittenden County; the Franklin County Senior Center, which offers many services including health promotion/prevention services, meals on wheels, activities, speakers and presentations; the Counseling Service of Addison County, offering a wide range of professional mental health and development services; and the Addison County Humane Society, which works to foster the humane treatment of animals in the community.

Other organizations to which our associates and staff contribute both their time and monetary donations include: The American Red Cross, Vermont Public Television, The Flynn Theatre, United Way, Burlington Meals on Wheels, Visiting Nurse Association, Burlington Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Vermont City Marathon, Boys and Girls Club, Essex Rescue, Stern Center, American Cancer Society, Shelburne Museum, Vermont Public Radio, Vermont Arts Council, King Street Youth Center, as well as school, sporting & municipal activities.
